For TEACHERS during CORONAVIRUS using Zoom for their classrooms. This site is a perfect way to organize your class visually around time periods and subject matter. By asking students to co-ordinate their background displays to a specific place, or time period—19th century Paris, the Middle ages, etc—you may treat the class to virtual time travel. Students can practice making aesthetic decisions each class, as well as appreciate the atmospheres of those sites, especially helpful in art, literature and history classes. It helps counter the visual monotony of your weekly activities. A category on the menu has been added for designed images edited especially for classes on Zoom. (Zoom Backgrounds) Unfortunately, older computers are not set up for virtual backgrounds.
This website was originally created for opera, theater, media designers, art directors and their students. It currently offers more than 4000 free images for research or use in categories arranged chronologically –Classic, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Classic, 19th and Modern. It also includes categories of Nature, Abstracts, Theater Effects, Graveyards, Objects, Graphics, Design Elements, Invites, Fantasy, Moods, Light, Places and Zoom Backgrounds —selections of work appropriate for graphic projects and media designers. These images are the work of artist RONALD CHASE taken during a five-decade career in projection and film for opera. If this site is helpful to you we would appreciate a donation to the non-profit he created, SF Art & Film, dedicated to making all the arts an accessible and vital part in young people’s lives. All images are shown in small JPEG format. Larger format JPEGs and TIFFs are available on request for print projects. Please credit the image when possible.
